What To Expect

Gom Su Bat Trang
Our local English speaking tour guide will pick you up at your hotel at 8:30 AM for the tour by private car or private scooter (it depends on your interest). Then we head up to Bat Trang Ceramic Village (about 12 kilometers from Hanoi). Bat Trang is an old, well-established village in the Gia Lam district of Hanoi. Since the 14th century, the village has been famous for ceramic and pottery products of high quality. If you’re already familiar with Vietnam, you may not be surprised to hear that Bat Trang’s vases, bowls, dishes, and many other kinds of ceramic products have been exported worldwide. Under careful instructions, kneading clay into animals and cartoon characters and making pottery has become a fun activity to let loose after long weeks traveling in the country, especially for children. Our guide will take you to visit the whole village with the local pottery market where there is a chance to find your local favorite pottery products with the good price.

Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum
In the tradition of Lenin, Stalin and Mao, Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum is a monumental marble edifice. Contrary to Ho Chi Minh’s desire for a simple cremation, the mausoleum was constructed from materials gathered from all over Vietnam between 1973 and 1975. Set deep in the bowels of the building in a glass sarcophagus is the frail, pale body of Ho Chi Minh.

Hoa Lo Prison
This thought-provoking site is all that remains of the former Hoa Lo Prison, ironically nicknamed the ‘Hanoi Hilton’ by US prisoners of war (POWs) during the American War. Most exhibits relate to the prison’s use up to the mid-1950s, focusing on the Vietnamese struggle for independence from France. A gruesome relic is the ominous French guillotine, used to behead Vietnamese revolutionaries. There are also displays focusing on the American pilots who were incarcerated at Hoa Lo during the American War.
You will stop to visit inside this prison in 40 minutes
