Duong Lam village has been well-known for its surviving

laterite brick houses, built three to four centuries ago. Laterite is red clay formed from weathered basalt found in northern Vietnam. Along with its historic value, Duong Lam, is an important place for scientists to study

resident communities and ancient agriculture. .

Van Phuc Silk Village Hanoi is renowned for its traditional silk weaving techniques and high quality products, making it one of the most visited craft village in Vietnam. Established over a century ago, this tranquil locale is home to massive banyan trees, wells, communal houses, and local artisans producing a wide range of apparel and souvenirs using traditional looms.

What To Expect

Duong Lam Ancient Village

Duong Lam is a beautiful, peaceful, clean, quiet village, with enough alleyways and detours that you can still find yourself the only tourist around (on a Wednesday morning, at least). It turned out to be my favourite day trip from Hanoi by a long shot.
