Vietnam Military History Museum
Founded in 1956 under the decree of cultural preservation by President Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam’s military history museum is one of the first establishments in the military museum system throughout the country. The area extends over 12,000m2 with 4,000 objects divided into 5 main sections following chronological order.

Imperial Citadel of Thang Long
Stretching over 108 hectares in the political center of Hanoi, Hanoi Citadel is a grand, well-preserved architectural remnant of long-gone history. Built in 1010 when Ly Thai To chose Hanoi to be the capital, this had been a constant power center of Ly, Tran, Le and Nguyen dynasty for 13 centuries. The archaeological excavation in 2002 showed a rich array of culture prosperity in Vietnam following 1000 years of foreign invasion, as well as the convergence of East Asian and South East Asian culture.

Quan Thanh Temple
Quan Thanh temple is one of “four guardians of Thang Long” or four holy temples protecting four directions: East, West, North, South of Thang Long Citadel. The temple has a history stretching nearly a millenia with architectural traces of Taoism, one of 3 main religions which heavily influenced Vietnamese society.

Chua Tran Quoc
Situated on West Lake in a goldfish-shaped island, Tran Quoc is like a lovely pearl of the capital. Built in 6th century with initial name “Khai Quốc” (National Founding), after many times of restoration and renaming, this is currently the oldest pagoda in 1000 pagodas in Hanoi. The name “Trấn Quốc” (National Defence) was named by king Le Hy Tong in 17th century

Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum
Located in the center of Ba Dinh square is Ho Chi Minh mausoleum, the most respected leader in Vietnam history. Built in 1969 when Uncle Ho passed away, the process of building and preserving his body is a continuous journey with immense support from Soviet experts as well as many materials and human stength from various regions of the country.

Temple of Literature & National University
Originally built as a place for Confucius worship, through history, Temple of Literature has turned to the first national school of Vietnam with more than 700 years of operation (1076 – 1802). This site not only hold importance in terms of education, but also a living place of Hanoi, containing 82 doctoral steles which UNESCO recognized as World Heritage.

Hoa Lo Prison
On Hai Ba Trung Street, next to the modern and busy Hanoi Tower is the notorious prison complex called Hoa Lo. The prison was built by French colonialists in 1986 to house Vietnamese political prisoners and later used by Vietnam to keep US prisoners of war.

St. Joseph's Cathedral
